CGI gets Canadian financial modernization deal
CGI Group Inc and IT/Net won a contract from Canada's Public Works and Government Services to deploy a new financial management system.
CGI Group Inc and IT/Net won a contract from Canada's Public Works and Government Services to deploy a new financial management system through a two-year, $8.2 million contract.
Under the contract, Team CGI-IT/Net will provide system integration support services to the department's financial systems transformation project.
The initiative supports the goal established by the department's deputy minister to increase financial oversight and provide sound management of public resources through improved financial service delivery.
The technology solution will replace the department's multiple legacy financial and material management applications with the Government of Canada's SAP R/3 Version 4.7 Integrated Finance and Material System.
In addition to the system's implementation, CGI and IT/Net will develop a strategy and provide necessary support services to ensure a stable transition from the existing financial applications currently in use to the new improved system.
CGI Group of Montreal has 25,000 employees and had annual sales of $3.1 billion in 2006. IT/Net, a technology consulting firm, has offices in Ottawa and Toronto.
