SAIC tapped for border security analysis

Science Applications International Corp. has won a five-year, $39.2 million contract to assist the Homeland Security Department with assessing risks and solutions for border security.

Under the contract, SAIC of San Diego will provide Customs and Border Protection with certification and accreditation, security risk assessments and security test and evaluation.

The company also will be responsible for system architecture, communication security services and technology policy and administration.

SAIC has more than 44,000 employees and had annual revenues of $7.8 billion for fiscal 2006. The company ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
