Go green with DOD

The Defense Department's Environmental Security Technology Certification Program is looking for demonstration projects for new green technologies.

The program wants technologies that can help with munitions detection and remediation, sustaining natural resources on training and test ranges, remediation of contaminated groundwater and sediments, and energy efficiency and renewable energy for DOD facilities.

DOE needs nuclear help

The Energy Department's Office of Health, Safety and Security wants assistance identifying classified nuclear technology that can help with nonproliferation objectives. The contractor will perform technical document reviews and help develop a nuclear guide and historical electronic library.

The contract also will support studies, analysis and reporting and involve file room and mailroom management.

The contract has a two-year base and three one-year options.

Ind. fuses dispatch centers

The Indiana State Police may want a contractor to provide a new computer-aided dispatch system to facilitate consolidation of all state dispatch centers. A request for proposals is expected either this summer or fall.

The state police operate separate dispatch centers at each of their 18 stations. A current initiative to implement an 800-MHz system that would enable interoperable communications statewide makes it more practical and cost effective to have fewer dispatch centers and possibly just one.

Sacramento goes shopping

The Human Resources Department in Sacramento, Calif., wants a contractor to deploy a new financial and human resources system. An RFP is expected mid-2007.
The city wants to replace its legacy financial, human resources and payroll systems with new enterprise resource planning software. The contract covers software and implementation services.

Grants management system

The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute wants a contractor to build a grants management system. An RFP is expected this summer.

The contractor should provide a system that would enable four separate grant programs to better monitor their federal funding as well as how the recipients use the funding. The contractor would design the system so that recipients would be responsible for reporting on their performance. The institute would use the data to determine future funding.
