Protiviti buys government consulting company

Protiviti Government Services Inc. has acquired Enspier Technologies Inc., a provider of risk consulting and internal audit services to federal agencies.

Protiviti Government Services Inc. has acquired Enspier Technologies Inc., a provider of risk consulting and internal audit services to federal agencies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Enspier's 57 employees will remain in Alexandria, Va. The newly acquired company will retain its name and use a tagline to indicate that it is part of Protiviti Government Services.

Enspier's services include identity management, information assurance, public key infrastructures, enterprise analyses and knowledge management. The company also specializes in software engineering, as well as management and business operations consulting.

Protiviti Government Services of Vienna, Va., is part of Protiviti Inc. of Menlo Park, Calif. Along with the acquisition, Protiviti consolidated its public sector operations into its government services subsidiary to deliver those services to the federal, state, local and international markets.

Protiviti is a unit of the accounting and finance staffing company Robert Half International Inc., also based in Menlo Park, Calif. The parent company has more than 230,000 employees and had annual sales of $3.3 billion in 2005.
