Fla. County taps Tyler Technologies for court software

Tyler Technologies will supply case management software for judicial courts in Broward County, Fla., through a contract worth about $4.6 million.

Under the contract, Tyler of Dallas will provide Broward's Clerk of the Circuit and County Court with its Web-based court case management solution. Software licensing and professional services are covered under the contract.

The company's Odyssey case management software handles many types of cases and includes electronic document management for court documents filed in all types of cases. Among the case types the software covers are civil, criminal, juvenile, probate, family, domestic violence and mental health cases.

As part of the project, Tyler will tie the Odyssey system into various other state and local justice systems with which Broward County exchanges information.

With 1.8 million residents, Broward County is the second most populous county in Florida and the fifteenth largest in the United States.

Tyler, a provider of information management solutions to state and local governments, has about 1,360 employees and had annual sales of $170.5 million in fiscal 2005.
