The Alaska Health and Social Services Department wants a contractor to install an electronic medical records system. A request for proposals is expected in the next few months.The system should give the department better access to clinical information and meet its patient information and business needs.The winning contractor will convert the old system to the new one, specify the hardware and train staff and end users. The contractor also will provide maintenance, updates and enhancements as necessary.The New Jersey Treasury Department may want a contractor to redesign its pension and benefits system. An RFP is expected in first quarter 2007.The redesign will involve implementation as well as engineering services.The California General Services Department wants a contractor to assess public safety radio systems throughout the state. An RFP is expected later this year.The assessment should analyze the degree of interoperability for radio systems at different levels of government and for related agencies.As part of the process, it should include a survey of the communications staffs of the agencies that operate the systems.The Child Support Division Enforcement Division of the Massachusetts Revenue Department wants a contractor to help move its legacy enforcement and tracking system to a new platform that includes all child-support functions. An RFP is expected this fall.The contractor would develop a technology road map that would set forth a strategy for the project.It also would be charged with incorporating into the new system the division's data warehouse as well as its Web and voice-response unit.
