Ciber signs on for New Hampshire ERP work

Ciber won a $13 million contract from New Hampshire to install enterprise resource planning software to better coordinate state business and administrative functions.

Under the contract, Ciber of Denver will replace the financial and human resources IT system with a comprehensive, statewide ERP solution from Lawson Software Inc. of St. Paul, Minn.

The ERP solution includes critical administrative functions such as budgeting, financial accounting, purchasing, human resources and revenue. It also handles grants and projects, assets and inventory, and receipts and treasury.

The first phase of the project, which began in May, will roll out the new financial system and part of the budget system statewide, Lawson said. Implementing the procurement and human resources software as well as the rest of the budgeting system will follow in phases two and three, respectively.

The ERP software is expected to lessen the need for manual intervention in the state's business processes by automating critical functions, Ciber said.

Ciber has about 8,000 employees and annual sales of nearly $1 billion.
