Calif. county re-ups ACS for IT support

Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. won a three- year, $15.2 million contract renewal with Solano County in California to continue supporting its IT infrastructure.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will furnish IT support services to meet the county's needs related to its desktop, applications, and help-desk functions.

The contract has two options for two years for continued IT services that could raise the total contract value to $35 million.

The new contract calls for several infrastructure improvement projects, migrating help-desk services to ACS' service center in Portland, Ore., and establishing new IT project management and best-practices initiatives.

ACS, which has more than 55,000 employees and annual revenue of $4.3 billion,, ranks No. 48 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
