Apptis inks SeaPort Enhanced support pact

Apptis Inc. won a contract award from the Naval Sea Systems Command to deliver services ranging from personnel to data collection under the SeaPort Enhanced initiative.

Under the contract, Apptis of Chantilly, Va., will furnish personnel, material, facilities, equipment, test instrumentation, data collection and analysis hardware and software and other services to the Navy.

The company did not provide the financial terms in time for this story.

The $5.3 billion SeaPort-e contracting initiative lets selected vendors to use a centralized, Web-based, e-business procurement portal to procure engineering, technical and programmatic support services for the Naval Sea Systems Command Warfare Center.

The Navy seeks through the initiative to organize and integrate its buying power, reduce acquisition and procurement cycle time and promote information security.

Apptis' clients include the Environmental Protection Agency, Securities and Exchange Commission, Social Security Administration and several federal departments.

The privately held company, which had annual revenue of $700 million in fiscal 2005, ranks No. 43 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
