Air Force enlists Telos for automated network process

Telos Corp. will train Air Force network operators in the use of new technology that automates manual monitoring processes for network systems, under a $7.4 million contract.

Specifically, Telos of Ashburn, Va., will design, install and train Air Force network operators to use the technology, which gives network officers real-time system performance alerts.

The technology process, known as Adaptive Thresholding and Performance Profiling, alerts network operators when stress negatively affects system performance on network devices and exceeds established operating thresholds. It monitors performance over a specific length of time and provides network administrators data to establish and adapt the operation thresholds they use for performance alerts.

The solution will be installed at the Air Force's 10 major command network operations security centers, three labs responsible for the validation of design and operational troubleshooting of Air Force networks, and Keesler Air Force Base, the network operations training center.

The Combat Information Transport System program office awarded the contract to Telos under the Air Force's network Centric Solutions contract vehicle.

Telos ranks No. 67 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT companies.
