Tyler hooks two Ohio county property reassessment deals

Tyler Technologies Inc. has won two contracts totaling $3.5 million to supply two counties in southwestern Ohio with property reassessment services.

Under the contracts, Tyler CLT of Dayton, Ohio, will furnish technical services to Butler and Clermont counties in connection with the 2008 reassessment. The company expects to complete the projects in early 2008.

The two counties are located in the greater Cincinnati area. Butler, with a population of about 350,000, is the eighth-largest county in the state. Clermont, with a population of 191,000, is the 13th-largest county in the state.

Under Ohio law, a general appraisal of every parcel of real property is mandated every six years, with an update at the three-year midpoint. The purpose of the reassessment is to ensure that properties are fairly and uniformly appraised and assessed for property tax purposes.

Tyler CLT, which offers mass appraisal and property tax software and outsourcing services, is a unit of Tyler Technologies of Dallas. The parent company has about 1,400 employees and had annual sales of $170.5 million in fiscal 2005, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
