Federal investigators are pursuing evidence that federal contractor Mitchell Wade and others may have supplied former Rep. Randall "Duke" Cunningham (R-Calif.) with prostitutes as well as use of limousines and hotel rooms, according to a story in the Wall Street Journal today.
Wade, founder of the former Washington-based computer services firm MZM Inc. has pleaded guilty as a co-conspirator implicated in the bribery scandal involving Cunningham, the Journal said. Cunningham resigned from Congress in November and was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to accepting more than $2 million in bribes from federal contractors.
MZM ranked No. 100 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors. The 2006 Top 100 list will be released on May 15.
Once the scandals broke, Wade sold the company to Veritas Capital, which renamed it Athena Innovative Solutions Inc.
