CGI-AMS inks two enterprise resource planning deals

CGI-AMS won two new local government contracts totaling more than $100 million to deploy the company's proprietary enterprise resource planning software.

Under a seven-year contract with New York City, CGI-AMS of Fairfax, Va., will install the latest version of its AMS-Advantage solution to serve as the foundation for governmentwide financial management and budgetary control systems.

The New York contract is a public/private partnership structured to let the city influence the solution's improvements, while customizing it by adding functionality that can be shared with other jurisdictions, the company said.

In addition to the customization, the company will provide integration services that connect newer AMS Advantage capabilities to the city's legacy ERP systems. The city plans to extend AMS Advantage to the previously independent Education Department ERP systems.

Under a seven-year contract with Wake County, N.C., the company will deploy AMS Advantage to handle the county's human resources, finance and budget systems. The company will deliver software, implementation and maintenance services.

CGI-AMS is a unit of CGI Group Inc., Montreal. The parent company has about 25,000 employees and annual sales of $3.1 billion in fiscal 2005. The company ranks No. 62 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors. The 2006 Top 100 list will be released May 15.
