Business Objects completes FirstLogic buy
Business Objects Inc. acquisition of FirstLogic Inc is part of a long-term strategy by the company to offer its customers a satisfactory data foundation for enterprise information management.
Business Objects Inc. has closed its acquisition of privately held FirstLogic Inc., a maker of enterprise data quality software and services.
The acquisition is part of a long-term strategy by Business Objects to offer its customers a satisfactory data foundation for enterprise information management, the company said in a statement.
"Enterprise information management provides Business Objects with a significant competitive advantage in what we can offer our customers. We expect it to ply an important role in our future growth plans," John Schwarz, Business Objects' chief executive officer, said in a statement.
By adding data quality to its EIM offerings, Business Objects wants to furnish customers with the tools they need to generate reliable information that can form the basis of enterprise business intelligence and performance management deployments.
Business Objects purchased FirstLogic of LaCrosse, Wis., earlier this year for $69 million in cash.
Business Objects has dual headquarters in San Jose, Calif., and Paris. The company has nearly 4,000 employees and had $1 billion in annual sales in fiscal 2005, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
