Alion Science and Technology Corp. has acquired Washington Consulting Inc. Terms of the deal, which was completed Feb. 24, were not disclosed.
The acquisition enhances Alion's capabilities in the areas of enterprise IT and knowledge management solutions and greatly expands the company's ability to deliver such services, said Bahman Atefi, Alion's chairman and CEO, in a statement announcing the deal.

The acquisition is Alion's second significant deal in the last 30 days. Earlier this month, the company acquired BMH Associates, a provider of advanced software and systems engineering that specializes in interactive simulations for military training.
McLean, Va.-based Alion's purchase of Carmel Applied Technologies ranked No. 6 in the Top 10 Deals of the Year in Washington Technology's 2005 Mergers and Acquisitions list.
