On the Edge: News Briefs
The new CL-1200 Slideaway works with Aten KVM installations, and features an integrated 15- or 17-inch LCD monitor. It includes a full keyboard, touchpad and one-unit, rack-mountable housing.
The unit's dual-console functionality enables simultaneous server control from a second console for more administrators to manage any server on the installation. The Slideaway also is IP-upgradeable by attaching an Aten KVM remote access device.
Tool recons data warehouse
Sypherlink Inc. launched Exploratory Warehouse, software that lets organizations speed the delivery of the business value of data warehouse initiatives.
Exploratory Warehouse lets organizations rapidly and virtually prototype the target data warehouse. This gives critical user feedback much sooner and avoids redoing any work, saving time and money.
Exploratory Warehouse serves as an interim data warehouse throughout implementation, letting users create ad hoc reports and use the data to make immediate decisions. The product can be integrated with common third-party data management tools and data integration applications.
Mezzanine card displays versatility
Artesyn Communication Products Inc. has a new half-height version of its Advanced Mezzanine Card. The new KosaiPM module makes it easy to add control and packet processing performance to small Micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture systems and to low-profile custom carrier blades equipped with Advanced Mezzanine Card sites.
"Our new half-height KosaiPM modules enable telecom OEMs to squeeze more processing power into tight spaces, whether they're using a proprietary carrier or a standard MicroTCA shelf," said Jeff Durst, director of product marketing at Artesyn.
The KosaiPM has a Pentium processor and can be plugged in without powering down a system.
