ManTech wins Air Force contingency services subcontract

ManTech International Corp. won a $200 million subcontract to provide worldwide contingency services for work on a multibillion-dollar Air Force program.

The subcontract was awarded under the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program III by Readiness Management Support LC, a unit of IAP Worldwide Services Inc. of Cape Canaveral, Fla.

ManTech's operations and maintenance services under the subcontract will cover radar systems, navigational aids, communications, information technology and logistics systems. The company's work under previous versions of the Afcap contract includes helping develop a new air traffic control system in Afghanistan and providing satellite communications capability at Kabul International Airport.

Afcap III is a 10-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a $10 billion ceiling that gives the Air Force worldwide civil engineering and services support for contingency operations.

Six companies are qualified to compete for task orders under Afcap III. They are Readiness Management Support, Washington Group International Inc., CH2M Hill Global Services LLC, URS Corp./Louis Berger Group Inc. joint venture, Bechtel National Inc. and DynCorp International Inc. The contracts were awarded Nov. 8.

ManTech, which has more than 6,000 employees and had annual revenue of $842.4 in fiscal 2004, ranks No. 21 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
