CompuDyne Corp., a provider of security products and technology, announced it won awards in October totaling $4.6 million.

Of that amount, CompuDyne's public safety and justice business received $1.8 million in awards and maintenance renewals. Its attack protection segment had $500,000 in awards with several major project bids still pending. The institutional security systems unit reported $1.4 million in awards, and the integrated electronic systems had $900,000 in awards.

On Nov. 21, CompuDyne said it signed a $1.5 million contract with the city of Burbank, Calif., for software and services for a new public safety system for the Burbank Police Department. Earlier this month, the company announced that its attack protection segment signed a $14.3 million contract to provide blast and attack resistant windows and doors for an unnamed U.S. government project.

Based in Annapolis, Md., CompuDyne employs more than 700 workers. It posted 2004 revenue of $142.8 million and a net loss of $8.2 million.
