Constella Group wins federal health care services deal

Constella Group LLC has won a contract worth $25 million over five years to provide IT support services for a central data repository that stores information about substance-abuse prevention programs and for related initiatives.

Constella Group of Durham, N.C., will support IT and data management for the Center for Substance Abuse and Prevention, a part of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the Health and Human Services Department.

The company also will develop a Web-based training and technical assistance program to help federal grantees develop and monitor their substance-abuse prevention programs. The system will collect and report prevention program results, consolidate old reporting methods, and produce analytical reports and presentation materials about the program's progress.

Constella Group's partners are The CDM Group Inc. of Bethesda, Md., the Human Services Research Institute of Cambridge, Mass., and McFarland & Associates Inc. of Silver Spring, Md.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration oversees the nation's delivery of substance-abuse prevention, addictions, treatment and mental-health services. The Center for Substance Abuse and Prevention works with states, regions and communities to develop and measure the effectiveness of their prevention programs.
