Navy taps CSC for systems engineering support on Aegis weapon system

Computer Sciences Corp. has won a $123 million contract with the Naval Surface Warfare Center to provide software and systems engineering support to the center in Dahlgren, Va.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center has issued a $123 million contract to Computer Sciences Corp. to provide software and systems engineering support to the center in Dahlgren, Va.

Under the contract, which will run for a base period of three months with options covering an additional five years, CSC will provide engineering, software and technology support to help the Navy maintain and certify the Aegis weapon system.

CSC will also help identify, develop, implement and evaluate new technologies and architectures for future naval weapons systems.

In addition to Dahlgren, CSC will also support facilities in Bath, Maine, Pascagoula, Miss., Wallops Island, Va., and Moorestown, N.J.

CSC is ranked No. 4 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of the largest government IT contractors.
