Computer Sciences Corp. won a $42.3 million contract to provide Web hosting and applications support services to the Defense Technical Information Center, the company announced today. The four-year contract has a two-year option.

Under the contract, CSC of El Segundo, Calif., will host internal and external Web sites for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Washington Headquarters Services and other DOD agencies.

In addition, CSC will establish single sign-on network capabilities, implement connectivity for agency networks, support Web services, improve registration processes and expand full-text search, content management systems and Web portal offerings.

The new agreement follows a five-year, $25 million contract signed with the information center in 2001 through which CSC provides Web hosting support for various DOD Web sites.

About 50 CSC Web and applications developers, systems administrators and other IT professionals will perform the work at the information center's headquarters at Ft. Belvoir, Va., and other locations in the Washington area, supporting as many as 80 public, limited-access and classified DOD Web sites.

CSC has 90,000 employees and annual sales of $14 billion. The company ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
