GTSI wins mobile, wireless pacts from USDA
GTSI Corp. has been awarded blanket purchase agreements from the Agriculture Department for mobile and wireless services for employees who work remotely.
GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va., has been awarded a pair of blanket purchase agreements worth $50 million from the Agriculture Department for mobile and wireless hardware and software to provide advanced networking capabilities for employees who work remotely.
The first contract provides rugged convertible tablet PCs meeting Agriculture's advanced communications requirements for field, state, regional and headquarters offices. The Panasonic Toughbook 18 MIL-STD-810F is designed to handle fieldwork in bad weather and provides integrated capabilities for wireless wide-area network and global positioning systems.
Under the second contract, GTSI will provide Agriculture wireless infrastructure technology and services in partnership with Cisco Systems Inc.
Each of the contracts, which were awarded July 25 and were off the GSA Schedule, are valued at $25 million and have a one-year duration with four option years.
GTSI is ranked No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
