BearingPoint wins CDC support contract

BearingPoint Inc. won a contract with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that potentially could be worth $15 million over five years, said officials from the McLean, Va.-based company.

The contract is to support the CDC's Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response. Under the new agreement, BearingPoint will provide services to the office's Leadership and Management team and the divisions of Business Services and State and Local Readiness.

This new agreement is the largest contract awarded to BearingPoint to date by the CDC and is worth at $3.2 million in the initial year, with four one-year options.

BearingPoint has been supporting the Coordinating Office in various capacities since October 2002, including assisting with strategic planning, development and execution, performance management, evaluation and reporting, application development, grants management and day-to-day program management.

BearingPoint will design, develop and deploy a Website for the division to support implementation and execution of improvement activities.

"Over the past three years, BearingPoint has built strong relationships and developed a deep understanding of CDC's business goals and objectives," said Bob Sullivan, senior vice president for BearingPoint's Health Services team.

BearingPoint is ranked No. 24 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of the largest government IT contractors.
