New Hampshire taps xwave for offender management
The state Department of Correction awarded xwave a $1.4 million contract for the company's CORIS statewide offender management system.
New Hampshire's Department of Correction awarded xwave, a subsidiary of Aliant Inc., a $1.4 million contract for the company's statewide offender management system, company officials said.
Under the contract, xwave's Corrections Information System (CORIS) will be delivered incrementally by the company, the project prime and technology provider over 14 months.
CORIS is an integrated, Web-based management system that supports information for incarcerated offenders as well as offenders under community supervision. The solution connects all parties through an electronic offender record and centralized database that features a complete view of the offender's status, history and risk profile.
With the system, offenders can be tracked better and managed more effectively as they move through the corrections system, according to xwave officials. Corrections officials have complete, accurate, real-time information to enable better treatment and security decision-making.
"To ensure both the public safety of our citizens and the effective management and treatment of offenders, we need to monitor and control custody, correctional treatment and rehabilitation of offenders across the entire system, from incarceration through to probation and parole," said Stephen Curry, Department of Corrections Commissioner.
"xwave's CORIS offender management system allows us to achieve this level of integrated real-time information, and thus gain a more detailed profile of every offender as well as a broader view of the environment as a whole."
