CGI-AMS wins Kentucky financial ERP deal

CGI-AMS has won a $6 million contract from the state of Kentucky to implement an enterprise resource planning solution to streamline business processes and improve productivity, the company announced June 13.

Under the contract, CGI-AMS of Fairfax, Va., will implement its AMS Advantage 3 Financial Management and Procurement solutions in a statewide deployment beginning in July 2006.

The planned upgrade of Kentucky's Management Administrative Reporting System is part of the state's implementation of an integrated financial management and procurement solution. The ERP solution is expected to enhance Kentucky's enterprise business processes and provide technologies to manage procurements.

When completed, the system will provide more than 5,000 users with Web-based access to an integrated information system to help further enterprise goals, such as reducing duplicate data entry, providing online access to information and enabling electronic workflow and approvals.

Twenty-one state governments use AMS Advantage. The module-based solution automates document workflow, decreases paperwork, improves customer service and facilitates decision-making.

CGI-AMS is a unit of CGI Group Inc. of Montreal. The company has about 25,000 employees and annual sales of $2.5 billion. It was ranked No. 62 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
