Ohio re-ups ACS for pharmacy benefits work

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a $4.7 million contract renewal from the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation for pharmacy benefits management services, the company announced today.

The two-year contract has a total of four option years.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will offer the bureau pharmaceutical claims processing, drug use review, real-time use management and prior authorization services. ACS also will provide help-desk and clinical call-center services as well as design and maintenance of a maximum allowable costs list.

The company has been performing pharmacy benefits management services for the bureau since 2002. Altogether, ACS provides pharmacy benefits management services to 21 states.

ACS offers IT and business process outsourcing services to the government and commercial sectors. It has more than 47,000 employees and annual sales of $4.1 billion. It ranks at No. 38 on the Washington Technology 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime IT contractors. The 2005 list will be released May 9.
