Northrop Grumman wins Army laser facility work
Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a five-year, $46.9 million follow-on contract from the Army Space and Missile Command to operate and maintain lasers and facility support systems used to test the effects of lasers against physical threats.
Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a five-year, $46.9 million follow-on contract from the Army Space and Missile Command to operate and maintain lasers and facility support systems used to test the effects of lasers against physical threats, the company announced today.
Northrop Grumman Information Technology of McLean, Va., will do engineering and technical support for the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility at White Sands Missile Range, N. M. It also will provide similar support for equipment such as the mid-infrared advanced chemical laser, the Sea-Lite beam director and the vacuum test system.
Northrop Grumman IT also will provide support for laboratory services, laser experiment setup, and design and documentation for test facility users.
The company's teammates are Raytheon Co., Waltham, Mass.; Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va.; Schafer Corp., Chelmsford, Mass.; and Denco Inc., Las Cruces, N.M.
Northrop Grumman IT is part of Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman. The company, which has more than 122,600 employees and annual sales of $29.8 billion, ranked No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
