General Dynamics wins Air Force network deal

General Dynamics Corp. has won a three-year, $36 million contract from the Air Force to provide centrally managed logistics support for the Combat Information Transport System, the company announced today.

Under the contract, General Dynamics Network Systems of Needham, Mass., will provide support and sustainment services for voice, video and data networks and equipment for all elements of the system.

The company will provide technical assistance worldwide for voice, video and data networks and equipment, emergency engineering and dispatch, emergency technical assistance, remote monitoring, return and repair, and software update and patches.

The work will be performed at the General Dynamics Network Operations Center in Fairview Heights, Ill.

The Combat Information Transport System Life Cycle Support Services task order was issued under the Air Force's Network-Centric Solutions contract. General Dynamics is one of eight companies awarded prime contracts under the $9 billion initiative.

General Dynamics Network Systems is a unit of General Dynamics of Falls Church, Va. The company, which has about 70,200 employees and annual sales of $19.2 billion, was ranked No. 6 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
