Keane adds more pension work

Keane Inc., a business and IT outsourcing firm, won a new services contract from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., extending the company's 10-year partnership with PBGC, company officials said.
Under the five-year, $14 million agreement, Keane will provide quality assurance services to manage the PBGC Integration and Testing Center and to deliver independent verification and validation support services.
PBGC is a federal corporation created by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to encourage growth of defined benefit pension plans, provide payment of pension benefits, and keep pension insurance premiums at a minimum. PBGC pays monthly retirement benefits to about 518,000 retirees in almost 3,500 pension plans.
In addition to the latest win, Keane's contracts at PBGC include customer relationship management, enterprise architecture, knowledge management, call-center support, smart-card and biometric security, electronic Freedom of Information Act and infrastructure engineering.
