Northrop Grumman wins Army training work
Northrop Grumman Corp. won a $9.2 million follow-on contract from the Army for technical support for the Tactical Simulation intelligence training system.
Northrop Grumman Corp. won a two-year, $9.2 million follow-on contract from the Army for technical support for the Tactical Simulation intelligence training system, the company said today.
The system trains commanders, intelligence staffs, collection managers and analysts to use intelligence in military operations. It can be linked to other military simulators to perform training exercises for intelligence personnel.
Northrop Grumman's information technology unit will offer program management, software development and maintenance, configuration management, system administration and security engineering for the system. It also will conduct research and development to determine new hardware requirements for the training system. The contract work will be performed at the Tactical Simulation program office in Orlando, Fla.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Northrop Grumman is No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The company employs 125,000 people and had 2003 revenue of $26.2 billion. Its IT division in Herndon, Va., provides IT solutions and business services for government and commercial clients.
