Former DOD bigwigs to advise IT services vendor

Data Systems Analysts Inc. has launched a federal advisory board and named two former high-ranking Defense Department officials as members.

David Borland, former deputy CIO for the Army, and Edward A. Hart, former deputy director of information security for the National Security Agency, join Tom L. Hewitt, founder of FSI of McLean, Va., as new board members.

The Pennsauken, N.J., company's federal advisory board will assist in reviewing DSA's strategic business plan and help develop ways to improve technology delivery to agencies, the company said.

Borland, who worked in Army IT and electronics for more than 31 years, retired from the service in November 2003 to start an IT consulting company.

Hart, who most recently worked as senior vice president and director of the Center for Information Protection with Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego, is now president of Hart Enterprises LLC of Chestertown, Md.
