CGI-AMS has signed five contracts with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that are worth $100 million combined, the company announced today.
Under the contracts, CGI-AMS of Fairfax, Va., will provide technical solutions and support for a half-dozen components of CMS. These contracts include support for the CMS and Medicare Web sites, Health Plan Management System, Fraud Investigation Database, Provider Enrollment Chain and Ownership System, and National Plan Provider Enumeration System.
The contracts help with the streamlining and modernization of information sources for customer service for Medicare beneficiaries as well as health care professionals, the company said.
CMS is the federal agency within the Health and Human Services Department responsible for Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance programs. CMS also is the primary agency responsible for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act implementation.
CGI-AMS is the U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. of Montreal. The company has 25,000 employees and annual sales of $2.8 billion.
