The Ohio Department of Administrative Services wants to build a statewide network, to be called OH*1 Network, to replace the network built in 1996. The network will be the infrastructure for the state's e-government initiatives, including ohio.gov. State and local agencies and school districts will use OH*1. A request for proposals is expected in December. The Western Governors Association wants to build a system to help its states track renewable energy generation information. The California Energy Commission is managing the contract.The states need to track renewable generation in the region to comply with mandates to increase that type of energy. The system will verify renewable energy generation within the region overseen by the Western Electricity Coordinating Council. An RFP is expected in November. The New York State Health Department wants a Medicaid system to replace its electronic system called eMedNY. The current contract expires June 30, 2006, and is held by Computer Sciences Corp. Maximus Inc. has been hired to act as a business consultant on the project. An RFP is expected in February 2005. The California Department of General Services wants to build a statewide fingerprint imaging system to help prevent and detect duplicate aid in the CalWorks and Food Stamps programs. This will discourage people from opening more than one public assistance case in California.The system will run on Windows workstations installed at county social services departments, connect to Unix services and interact with an Informix relational database management system and Printrak automated fingerprint identification system hardware and software.
