Seven companies get spots on $7 billion Navy contract
The companies now will compete against each other for work under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity five-year contract, awarded by the Naval Shipbuilding Support Office to support the Naval Sea Systems Command and Fleet-sponsored maintenance programs.
Seven companies won a place on a five-year contract to provide engineering and technical services to Navy maintenance and modernization programs involving shipboard equipment and systems. The companies will compete for about $7 billion in work, according to the Defense Department.
The companies are Amsec LLC, Virginia Beach, Va.; Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va., Tecnico Corp., Chesapeake, Va.; Titan Corp., San Diego; QED Systems Inc., Virginia Beach; VSE Corp., Alexandria, Va.; Milcom Systems Corp., Virginia Beach.
The companies will compete against each other for work under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, which was awarded by the Naval Shipbuilding Support Office to support the Naval Sea Systems Command and Fleet-sponsored maintenance programs.
Work will be performed in San Diego; Norfolk, Va.; Bremerton, Wash.; Mayport, Fla.; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and Sasebo, Japan; and should be complete by September 2005, according to the department.
