ManTech enlists for Navy acoustical trials

ManTech International Corp. has won a five-year, $20.5 million contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division to provide engineering and technical services for submarine and surface ship acoustical trials, the company announced today.

ManTech of Fairfax, Va., will conduct acoustic measurements and develop data acquisition systems for submarines and surface ships. It also will support oceanographic research vessels and hydrographic survey vessels.

The work will be performed in Bethesda, Md., and Panama City, Fla., as well as aboard Navy ships at sea, the company said.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center is the primary technical engineering resource for the Naval Sea Systems Command. It offers lifecycle support in ship design and electronic systems for surface ships and submarines.

ManTech, a provider of information technology and technical services to the federal government, has more than 5,300 employees and annual sales of $701.6 million. The company ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
