BearingPoint scores $229 million Emerge2

BearingPoint Inc. of McLean, Va. won a contract potentially worth $229 million from the Homeland Security Department to build the consolidated administrative and financial management system known as Emerge2, the agency announced today.

The Electronically Managing Enterprise Resources for Government Effectiveness and Efficiency program is an enterprise resource planning system that aims to give decision-makers across the agency more timely information about the agency's assets and resources.

"With the award of this contract, we are one step closer to providing improved visibility into our critical business information," said Andrew Maner, DHS' chief financial officer, in a statement.

The program will focus on accounting and reporting, acquisition and grants management, cost and revenue performance management, asset management and budget, the agency said.

The contract was awarded as a blanket purchase agreement that will be comprised of individually negotiated task orders leading to the full implementation of the solution. The initial task order is for $3 million.

Among BearingPoint's Emerge2 team members are Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Deloitte Consulting, Hewlett-Packard Co., Lockheed Martin Corp. and Thomas & Herbert Consulting.
