Northrop wins Army command and control contract
Contract is part of a $1.4 billion software and systems engineering contract from the Army's Communications-Electronics Command.
Northrop Grumman Corp. won a five-year $71.2 million task order from the Army to provide acquisition and software support for command, control, communications and computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance program readiness, the company said today.
The contract is part of a $1.4 billion software and systems engineering, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the Army's Communications-Electronics Command in October 2001.
Northrop Grumman's Information Technology unit of Herndon, Va., will provide program management, engineering, security, logistics and technical support. The order also includes engineering and technology integration for current and new programs, such as interoperability analysis and testing, system design and configuration and modeling and simulation.
Northrop Grumman's teammates include Data Corporation of America Inc. of Colts Neck, N.J.; PKMM Inc. of Oceanport, N.J.; and NetCentric Computer Solutions Inc. of Freehold, N.J.
The task order will add approximately 35 new jobs to Northrop Grumman's IT division, which employs around 9,000 people.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Northrop Grumman is No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list. The company employs 120,000 workers and had 2003 revenue of $26.2 billion.
