Northrop Grumman wins $408 million Army deal

Northrop Grumman Corp. won a 10-year, $408 million contract from the Army to provide battle command and training support, the company announced today.

Northrop Grumman Information Technology of Herndon, Va., will provide planning and support for exercises that simulate command and control decision-making. The exercises are a major chunk of simulation support for the Army.

The company's team includes Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va., and Cubic Corp., San Diego. The work will be performed at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and at major Army command centers around the globe.

In addition to the new work, Northrop Grumman IT also provides military training to Army forces based in Europe, the Air Force and the State Department.

Northrop Grumman IT is part of Northrop Grumman of Los Angeles. The parent company has more than 120,000 employees and annual sales of $26.2 billion. Northrop Grumman ranked No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
