The five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity task order is worth up to $124 million.
The companies: Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio; Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va.; Johnson Controls Security Systems LLC, Milwaukee, Wis.; Lockheed Martin Corp., Bethesda, Md.; Science Applications International Corp., San Diego; STG Inc., Reston, Va.; Northrop Grumman IT TASC Inc., Chantilly, Va.; URS Group Inc., San Francisco; and Unisys Corp., Blue Bell, Pa.
The companies will compete to protect several modes of transportation; logistics processes; and government functions, facilities, and operations from sabotage and terrorist attacks.
The services they will provide include vulnerability assessments and security planning and security system design, installation and testing.
The task orders were awarded by the Transportation Department's John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center under the Transportation Security Solutions contract.
The center provides research, analysis and system deployment services to the Transportation Department and other federal, state and local agencies.
