SI International wins Air Force BPA

SI International Inc. won a five-year blanket purchase agreement to provide technical support and services for the Space and Missile Systems Center space programs, company officials announced July 8.

The multiple-award contract allows the Reston, Va., company to compete for tasks with a ceiling value of $500 million over one year and four option years.

SMC, a unit of the Air Force Space Command, is responsible for research, design, development and acquisition of space launch, satellite and command and control items.

This newly awarded BPA positions SI International to expand its support for defense transformation and space systems modernization with the Space and Missile Systems Center, according to company officials. The company also supports SMC's Military Satellite Communications, Global Positioning System and the Advanced Extremely High Frequency System.

Under the BPA, SI International will provide systems engineering and integration, systems security engineering, software engineering, integrated logistics support and systems protection training support.

The BPA supports SMC locations primarily in Los Angeles, Lompoc and Sunnyvale, Calif.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral, Fla.; and Washington.

Other companies previously awarded BPAs include Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., CACI International Inc., General Dynamics Corp. and Jackson & Tull.

SI International provides IT and network solutions primarily to the federal government. The company ranks No. 66 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors, with $168.3 million in revenue in 2003. SI International has about 1,300 employees.
