NIH chooses document management integrator

NMS Imaging Inc., an integrator of document management solutions, won a $5 million contract to provide a records and correspondence management solution for the National Institutes of Health, the company said.

Silver Spring, Md.-based NMS Imaging will integrate and deploy the agency's System for Enterprise Records and Correspondence Handling (SERCH) system, a document management solution made of commercial off the shelf products.

Company officials said the system will handle document tracking, imaging, reporting and workflow operations for NIH. It will also replace a similar system used by the Health and Human Services Department.

"The SERCH system has the flexibility and scalability to serve as an enterprise information technology solution for the client today and in the future," said Stephen Dring, executive vice president of NMS Imaging.

Privately held NMS Imaging was founded in 1971 and specializes in document management, portals and workflow automation. It holds a GSA schedule and is a prime contractor on NIH's Image World 2 contract
