Alliance issues RFP for emergency directory
Procurement calls for continued development of a geographic information system-enabled electronic directory.
The ComCARE Alliance has issued a request for proposals for the development of the next phase of the Emergency Provider Access Directory.
The procurement, partly funded by a Justice Department grant, calls for continued development of a geographic information system-enabled electronic directory that will hold emergency and administrative contact information for more than 100,000 public and private emergency response agencies nationwide.
A prototype of the directory has been developed and used in several demonstrations and trials. The directory allows vital information about a mass emergency or daily emergency event to be routed quickly and securely to appropriate authorities and organizations.
The ComCARE Alliance of Washington is a non-profit organization of more than 95 public and private organizations focusing on development and deployment of communications and information technologies for emergency capabilities.
A bidder's conference will be held July 22. Responses are due by Aug. 13.
The RFP is available for vendors to download on the ComCARE Web site at www.comcare.org/epadrfp.
