Tier wins Tenn. child support call center deal
Tier Technologies Inc. to operate child support customer service unit for Tennessee's human services department.
Tier Technologies Inc. has won a $5.8 million contract from the Tennessee Human Services Department to operate its child support customer service unit.
The three-year deal has options for two additional years.
Tier of Reston, Va., will operate Tennessee's Child Support Customer Service Call Center and provide accurate information in a timely manner to callers.
The unit will be located with the child support payment processing center that Tier currently operates for Tennessee.
Tier announced June 3 that it had won a $6.9 million contract to provide the department with child support payment processing services. The new contract, announced today, is in addition to the earlier deal.
Unifying the operations of the child support service units is expected to enhance service delivery to Tennessee's child support community, the company said.
Tier has provided Tennessee with child support payment processing service since 1999. From October 1999 through December 2003, Tier processed more than 11.5 million child support payments totaling more than $1.4 billion in payments to Tennessee's custodial parents.
Tier offers transaction processing and packaged software and systems integration services to the public sector. The company has more than 830 employees and annual sales of $127.1 million.
