Morea named head of CGI-AMS

Donna Morea has been named president of CGI-AMS, the U.S. operating unit of CGI Group Inc. of Montreal.

Donna Morea has been named president of CGI-AMS, the U.S. operating unit of CGI Group Inc. of Montreal.

Morea had been the co-chief operating officer and general manager of the public-sector practice for American Management Systems Inc. of Fairfax, Va., which was acquired in May by CGI in a three-way deal with CACI International Inc. of Arlington, Va.

CGI acquired AMS' state and local, federal civilian and commercial business, while CACI acquired AMS' defense and intelligence business in a deal worth about $858 million.

Morea has worked at AMS since 1980, mostly with the company's government business.

In her new post, Morea will oversee 7,500 people working with customers in government, health care, financial services, telecom and utilities, manufacturing, retail and distribution. The U.S. operations of CGI represent about 34 percent of the company's annual revenue of $2.8 billion.
