Kalish named Crown Consulting president

Stephen Kalish, former president of Computer Sciences Corp.'s federal sector Civil Group, will become president of Crown Consulting Inc.

Stephen Kalish, former president of Computer Sciences Corp.'s Civil Group in its federal sector, will become president of Crown Consulting Inc. July 1, Crown officials announced.

Kalish will direct the Washington company's daily operations and lead its strategic planning as Crown prepares to diversify its service offerings and markets, according to company officials.

Crown is a small information technology business that specializes in air traffic control and aviation.

"Steve Kalish will help Crown solidify its traditional business base at the [Federal Aviation Administration] while guiding the company to new aviation and systems customers in other federal agencies and the private sector," said Al Khan, Crown's chief executive officer.

Kalish spent 18 years at CSC. Under his leadership, the Civil Group provided system solutions and IT services to the departments of Energy, Education, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, State, Transportation and Treasury.

Before the Civil Group, Kalish was vice president of CSC's Transportation Systems Center, where he built a system engineering solutions and IT practice that handled major systems development programs for the Coast Guard, Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Department and the Volpe National Transportation System Center.

"My leadership role at Crown will focus on strengthening the company's business foundation in aviation, bringing the company's skills to new clients, and integrating new technology and consulting skills into the company's portfolio of capabilities," Kalish said.

Crown's Information Technology Group specializes in system development, information security and system operations and maintenance. Its Transportation Systems Group specializes in aviation operations assessment, airport and airspace planning, and supply chain security analysis. Crown has about 180 employees and $21 million in annual revenue.
