Amsec LLC won a 10-year contract to provide engineering and logistics support to the U.S. Navy's Fleet Technical Support Center Atlantic, the company said today. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract awarded by the Navy's Fleet and Industrial Supply Center in Norfolk, Va., is worth a potential $298.9 million if all options are exercised.
The contract is one of three awarded by the Navy for engineering services at the center. Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va., and San Francisco-based URS Corp.'s EG&G Division received the other two 10-year contracts earlier this year. The three contracts have a combined value of $827.9 million.
Amsec of Virginia Beach, Va., will provide engineering analysis, logistics, industrial and installation services, and assessment and maintenance of shipboard systems and equipment services. The Fleet Technical Support Center Atlantic carries out field service engineering activities.
Owned by Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego and Northrop Grumman Corp.'s Newport News division of Newport News, Va., Amsec supplies naval architecture and marine engineering services to the Navy and commercial companies. The company has annual revenue of $500 million and 5,000 employees nationwide and overseas.
