Northrop Grumman wins AF modeling, simulation work

Northrop Grumman Corp. won the $21 million follow-on Professional Control Force contract from the Air Force, officials of the Los Angeles company announced today.

Northrop Grumman will continue to provide modeling and simulation training to help Air Force battle staff plan and control campaigns during wartime. Northrop Grumman has held the Professional Control Force contract since 1999.

Under the new contract, Northrop Grumman will offer the training to the Air Force through 2009.

Northrop Grumman's Herndon, Va., IT unit will do training and support services for exercises and demonstrations that range from initial event planning and schedule formulation to design and development of operational scenarios.

Work on this contract will be performed at the 505 Command and Control Wing, 505 Exercise Control Squadron, at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Northrop Grumman's team includes experts in weapons systems, air operations, command and control, mission planning, information systems and modeling and simulation, company officials said.

Northrop Grumman also provides modeling and simulation training to the Army and Navy.
