SAIC lands Navy support services deal

Science Applications International Corp. has won a four-year, $18.4 million contract from the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego to provide support services for information assurance and radio frequency engineering systems and programs, the company announced today.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract is worth $4.4 million for the first year. The contract includes three one-year options, which, if exercised, raise the value to $18.4 million.

Under the contract, SAIC of San Diego will lead a contracting team that will offer command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems engineering and analysis.

Other services include independent verification and validation, network systems security engineering, radio frequency engineering and analysis and information assurance.

"The goal of this contract is to plan, manage and execute information technology, information assurance and integrated circuit technology programs," said Thad Wolfe, corporate vice president and general manager for SAIC's Enterprise Security Solutions Business Unit.

SAIC's team includes American Systems Corp., Chantilly, Va.; Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va.; MIL VETS Systems Technology Inc., Lanham, Md.; General Dynamics Corp., Falls Church, Va.; Epsilon Systems Solutions Inc., San Diego; SYS Technologies, San Diego; G2 Software Systems Inc., San Diego; and SEIDON Inc., San Marcos, Calif.

SAIC has more than 43,000 employees and annual sales of $6.7 billion. The company ranked No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue. The new list comes out in May.
