RSIS wins $22M Veterans Affairs systems deal

RS Information Systems Inc. won a $22 million contract to provide systems engineering to the Office of Cyber and Information Security at Veterans Affairs, officials of the McLean, Va., company said today.

Under the contract, RSIS will establish and operate the Engineering and Deployment Integration Center of the OCIS program management office in Martinsburg, W.Va. OCIS is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of veterans' private data, as well as the timely and uninterrupted flow of information throughout Veterans Affairs.

"Our task is to support the engineering, deployment, integration and maintenance of security projects of the Program Management Office," said Rodney Hunt, RSIS president and chief executive officer. "The contract adds another dimension to information assurance and engineering support RSIS already provides OCIS."

The job was awarded through a blanket purchasing agreement with OCIS that allows an RSIS-led team to compete for an estimated $100 million in government contracts over three years.

RSIS' team includes Signal Solutions, part of Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics Corp.; Columbia, Md.-based Aegisant Inc.; Herndon, Va.-based Intelligix Inc.; and Shepherdstown, W.Va.-based KRM Associates Inc.
