Navy taps TRM for resource management system

Total Resource Management Inc. has won a five-year, $6.7 million contract from the Office of the Commander of the Navy's Northwest Region in Bangor, Wash., the company announced this week.

TRM of Alexandria, Va., will provide consulting, project management and technical services support to implement a comprehensive, integrated enterprise information technology system. The system will manage more than $2 billion in facilities and utilities assets for the Navy's northwest region.

TRM is charged with implementation of a Web-based enterprise asset management system that can support employees, facility maintenance engineers, customers, suppliers and contractors at various naval bases.

The system will expand to support management of transportation assets and cranes as well as conduct purchasing operations and facility assessments. The system, already integrated with Navy financial systems and outsourced maintenance providers, will be integrated further with mobile handheld devices, project management software and estimating software.

TRM provides consulting and IT solutions that help agencies improve the management and performance of enterprise assets, such as facilities, infrastructure and production. The company has about 100 employees and had annual sales of $9.4 million in 2002.

The company was listed No. 42 on Washington Technology's 2003 Fast 50 list, which recognizes the 50 fastest growing businesses in the government IT market.
